My parents, in their space. I hope the boys will remember these days and this place when they get bigger. Here’s a link to the finished pieces and you can also follow them on Facebook. xo Gretchen

have to tell you all something…. We’re moving! I’ve tried to think of a creative fresh way to announce this and I just decided to just do it. I’ve already leaked the news a few times. Actually, okay I’ve leaked it a lot. So now, I’ve just decided to tell it here too! We are excited and its hard to not share our news! We are going to be moving to Portland, OR early this summer. Stephen and I (and the boys) are all native Arkansans. We love Arkansas. We love being close to our families. We love our friends here. Sometimes, like when its 32 degrees outside I even think I love that it gets to stinkin hot in the summer here. Arkansas and Little Rock = Love.
But, we have heard so many great things about Portland and the surrounding areas and so we are just giddy about beginning a new, exciting chapter for our family in Oregon. I know we will miss our home here, but we are also eager to see what new adventures we can find there.
I’ve been booking the remaining winter sessions for the next few months and as I sent out available dates to some clients this week, I was reviewing the calendar. My last available session date here will be May 15th and after looking at the trips, events and sessions, I’m realizing just how much writing there is on my calendar squares between now and the spring. If you know you’d like a session between now and March 31st, now is the time to schedule your session. And soon I’ll be opening bookings for April 1-May 15th. I have a short waiting list to book for April-May and if you’d like to be added to be contacted when those dates are open for booking, please just drop me a line, I’ll link my contact info below. If you are reading from Portland…Hi! We are excited! I’m looking forward to making new friends (but still treasuring the old) and making a new home for our family in the Oregon. I’d love to hear from you in the comments or an email! I’m tentatively planning to begin booking sessions in Portland beginning in July. I’m also on facebook and often share juicy details about sessions and specials there first.
To contact me to schedule a session or add your name to the waiting list for April/May bookings you can just email me at gretchendavisphotography@gmail.com
These images below are of us from this September when we went to visit the very talented Raye Law of Forth Smith, Arkansas for a family session. Really, they have nothing to do with the whole moving announcement but I have been wanting to share some of these here for the longest time and it seems like this is the right post to share them. Plus I thought these light filled images really make me feel a lot warmer than the snow falling outside my window does. I’ve been crazy in love with these images since I first saw them and they are truly a treasure to us to have. Raye just has such an eye for documenting families. Not just families - families together. She is such an amazing artist and her ability to create images that evoke emotion is unmatched. If you haven’t been introduced to Raye’s work you should really click over to her site, just make sure you’ve got a cup of coffee or hot chocolate to keep you company, you’ll be there for a while.
Thank you so much again Raye!
