I traveled to Corvallis, OR to meet this sweet family for our second session together and everything about that day was rich and perfect. The sun was shining, I was alone for a beautiful drive with a hot coffee in my hand and then pulled up at the home of this sweet, real and relaxed family. It was the best day. Here are my favorites.

This was such a beautiful, sunny weekend. Loved this family.

A couple of weekends ago, I met up with Mary Collier of MKC Photography of Wenatchee, Washington in Seattle, WA for a fun relaxed session for her family. I was nervous for so many reasons. I was nervous to be photographing another photographer. I know that its not often we are able to be on the other side of the lens and I wanted to really give Mary a session that would remind them of how fun, fast and beautiful this stage of their family is. Meeting them in Seattle also marked my first visit to Washington and obviously to Seattle. I only saw a tiny bit of Seattle since I was only there for a day, but WOW, what a gorgeous, buzzing, creative city. I don’t know if I’m ever going to feel familiar with navigating all the ins and outs of driving in big cities, its intimidating to me. I am becoming very experienced at getting lost and wandering around and apparently not all who wander are lost, so I guess that’s not really a bad thing
Fortunately, my fears about both things were unfounded. Mary and her family were totally fun and full of energy and completely beautiful. I loved getting to know them and I loved working with Mary to create a session that was real and mostly unscripted. And driving from Portland to Seattle turned out to be a breeze, I didn’t get lost at all and even had some time to wander around in downtown Seattle. It was a fantastic day and I’m so glad I got to spend it with the Colliers. Here are just a few of my favorites.

We met for this session in the last light of the day, my favorite time to shoot. The sky was beautiful and so were they. Here are my favorites.
